What a great picture of the four of them.
Is that tree tunnel still in existance?
What's in front of them?

Good questions. I don't know the answers.
Does anyone else?

Yes that tree tunnel does still exist.
Sue and I saw it a couple of weeks ago in Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
That is in the north grove trail that some of you took a couple of years ago.
That's a tree trunk in front of them and I do believe whoever took the picture was standing on it.
I have seen other pictures of them in the park and
I was with them (and in some pictures) on one trip, maybe this one.

That's John Hoff on the horse, with his mother Jean.
John lived with us in the little house out back while attending college in 1962/63.
Don and I spent a lot of time up at his folks place in Rescue on weekends and during the summer.
Kanaka Valley (yesterday's picture) is only a few miles away.
I rode the horse down there once (tomorrow's picture).
Jean still lives in the same old house.

Thanks for putting a picture up for me today Heidi. I'd have to say that little girl in the middle is you. That picture was taken in August of 1979 up a Jackson Meadows, at the cove side campground. That's the year Chuck carried that big full sized mattress down the hill so Shirley would have a comfortable place to sleep.

John and Tony, but does anyone know who the girl in the middle is?

The girl with Tony and John is Pam.
She was the girl that John was with for over 6 years before Lyn. Bill and I liked her very much.
We have heard from her since John's passing and she will be stoping by to see us soon.
She has a daughter that lives in Placerville so she said the next time up here she will stop by.
She lives in Santa Rosa.
It was really great to hear from her because we did not know how to reach her.
Maybe some of you might remember her from one of the October Birthday pictures. The little slender girl.
