This picture doesn't need a caption. Sorry Uncle Wayne.
Gee, who was responsible for throwing THAT party??!!!! HA HA!!
Gosh, was that the infamous "ashtray" night?
Early 1980's
It's the 1953 stick shift Plymouth. Bill says that was pappy's hot rod.
Thanks a lot brother. What have I ever done to you? I wish there was some way I could have deleted it.
That's a lot of years of loving the Menebroker children.
Happy Birthday "Sally"!!
Hey Mr. Bill, You look great.
Yes, when there were 30 some of us all camping together it was a blast!
Boy does that go back a ways. I remember when she would come out from INDIANA she would always make home made egg noodles. And were they ever good. Another thing that I remember was the berry pie that was always served with a piece of cheese {not low fat or fat free}. Those were some great times for those of you that never had a chance to be there. Just us old folks. HAHA.
Happy Anniversary, kids! Not only is it your FIRST 10th anniversary, but your last. Next is 11. No more 10s.
love,
They will celebrate their second 10th anniversary on March 16th, the date of their church wedding. I told Matt he wasn't very smart because most guys have trouble remembering one anniversary and he was going to have to remember two.
I was right.
They (?) celebrate both. It did save them a bunch of money at the time though not having to pay Heidi's moving cost to Hawaii.
Here's a closer view. Amazing what they can do these days.
Congratulations!! Yippee!!! Another baby in the family!!!!
Congratulations! Kenny Ray gets to be a big brother! Hoooray!
Well, that's just a neat way to start the year! Glad to hear the news of a new arrival!
Oh man!!!! I wasn't feeling old until now!
Sorry for the confusion Shirley. I didn't get a chance to finish the picture last night.
Chuck was only maybe 99.9% more patient.
Those were the days. So many great memories!
Kenny-Ray looks a whole lot like his Aunt Keri.

Even though this is a partial picture, it's worth posting so everyone can see Wayne's legs.
I don't know who that is on the left but Bub is in the middle, Alice Fernanz(?) on the right, and Wayne in the back right.

Which car is this? The 1949 Packard, the 1953 Plymouth or ???.
It sits just about were the carport is located now.
The cherry trees along the driveway can be seen in this picture.

This was pop Menebroker's Nebraska farm house. He grew up in this house.
It was destroyed by a tornado in May of 1918, but quickly rebuilt with the help of friends and neighbors.
As far as I know it is still standing in the suburbs(LOL) of Clearwater Nebraska.
At least it was when Don, and I and the family were back there in 1986.
On the back of the picture is written "Home Sweet Home."

I loved that raft and those camping trips. Hopefully I can get over my lack of desire for camping and take K-R and ?? camping someday.

I can already tell what a beautiful baby she is???? CONGRATULATIONS.
It looks like we are going to have two new babies this year. Bill and I are going to be great grand parents April 27. It is a little boy. Carrie and Sean Jamison are very happy. It is hard to believe because Bill and I are not that old. Grandpa John is very happy too. Everyone is doing fine.
Cora

Pop Menebroker.
This picture was taken in Nebraska around 1920 so I don't know who the baby is.
Chuck really looked like Pop. Any idea who the baby is?
Shirley
As you can see I do not know who the baby is, but Chuck sure looked like dad that's for sure.
Chuck was a little more patient though, don't you think?

Fern Menebroker, one of pop Menebroker's many cousins.
In 1977 Vicki attended a TOPS retreat near Portland Oregon.
You can imagine Vicki's double take when someone stood up and introduced herself as Fern Menebroker. She has since past away.
Fern was the daughter of Herman Menebroker, dad's uncle, and sister of Lawrence and Lucille.
As best I can tell, her two children Paul and Roberta live on the west coast.
I believe Paul Menebroker lives in the San Jose area and Roberta Menebroker in Arizona. Paul called Wayne and talked to him a bit when Wayne lived in San Diego in the 80's, and Paul was in the Navy.
