Annie's 70th Birthday Party
Dear Family,
I want all of you to know how special it was to be at the family home, now Don and Sue's, for my 70th birthday, which I can hardly believe exists! All those years!
It was the kind of day we keep in the memory of the heart for the rest of our life.
The memories rushed into my head, especially with the picture Ray put on the family website.
All of us young, our kids little kids, who have kids that are now grown.
And their kids! Oh my gosh!
I love you all quite a lot. We shared so much during the years I came into the family, around 1964...and I have never really "left".
I am a Menebroker to the core!
I thank Don and Sue for the house to share this time in, for Sue and Wayner for giving it, for all of you that came. I love you all.
As all of you know, I write poetry. Some of it "ok" some of it "edgie".
I once wrote a poem about how important it is to find and give love.
Here it is:
Love
What I know about love
could fill a bottle cap.
But sometimes
I use the word because
it feels good
and right to do so.
If we wait to express
something until we fully
understand it, we would
stand around like they
did in the depression
waiting for apples and jobs.
This poem simply means, it is very important to love in this life we each have,
and we shouldn't wait too long to give and receive it.
I have certainly felt it from you, and given it back!
Annie
Here are the pictures from the party yesterday.
It was a great time and my mom really appreciated everyone being there.
Thanks so much for coming and being part of her 70-year celebration!
Love
Sue
